Honey Pot Performance Invites us to “Flourishing,” the next event in their Chicago Black Social Culture Map (CBSCM) series, happening on Sunday, October 6th, 2024, from 2:30 PM to 7:00 PM at First Church of the Brethren, 425 S. Central Park Blvd, Chicago, IL.

“Flourishing” is a celebration of the rich history, creativity, and resilience of Black social culture in Chicago. Through live performances, storytelling, and roundtable discussions, we’ll reflect on the past, celebrate the present, and explore future possibilities for arts, culture, and nightlife in Black neighborhoods.

Event Highlights:

- Opening Performance: A live vogue and ballroom-inspired performance by Fabulous Freddie

- Storytelling and Archival Presentations: Learn from cultural historians and producers including Duane Powell, Jenna Pollack, and Lori Branch  

- Roundtable Discussion: A conversation about actionable solutions for the future of Black arts and culture in Chicago  

- Closing DJ Set & Social Hour: Featuring Finding IJeoma—network, connect, and enjoy!
