Wilson Thornsberry is GPCC's newest Garden and Market Associate. He is studying environmental science with an emphasis on sustainable agriculture and food systems at Loyola University Chicago. His interests lie in his community where he works to make a difference for the people around him. He is particularly interested in addressing the issues of food deserts that restrict access to nutritious and affordable foods and put extra stress on households and communities. He also enjoys environmental advocacy, runs a climate cafe in Chicago's 49th ward, has spend time with Food Tank as an event manager, has set up discussions with local food security advocates to facilitate communication and education within my community. In his free time, he enjoys making bass guitar videos and posting them online and performing at local Chicago venues.
